Anna first started going to yoga classes at her local gym in Wellington in 2009. Although she had been to the odd yoga class before, it wasn’t until then that she started attending classes regularly. At that time, yoga, for her, was a way of relieving back pain caused by a minor accident and a desk-based job.
“While my back was getting better and I was enjoying the physical practice, there was also something else that had me returning to my weekly classes: that blissful feeling when you walk out.”
In 2011, Anna discovered a new side of yoga when she attended prenatal classes while pregnant with her first son. “I found a deeper connection to my body, breath, and mind.”
Since moving to the Bay of Plenty, she’s been a student at the Tauranga Yoga Centre, the Waihi Beach Yoga Collective and Creative Yoga NZ. In that time, yoga has become a part of her daily life. Anna started teaching at Creative Yoga NZ in November 2016 and is currently studying towards her yoga teacher certification.
“I love the continuous journey of learning and growing through my yoga practice and through different teachers, classes, and workshops. And I love sharing my love for yoga with others.”
